SSUK 2010 Update

We've had to move the race site about 15 miles up the road to Cwm Rhaedr just outside the village of Cilicwm, near Llandovery, due to windfarm plans at Brechfa Forest, which threatened to make planning really awkward! Cwm Rhaeder is a really nice, self contained trail, with a beautiful climb followed by a 4km descent. Race day is pencilled in for Saturday 14th August!

SSUK 2010

It's official - and if you were up in Dalby for the past weekends SSUK '09, you'll already know that we've been succesful in getting SSUK for 2010!

The guys at Singletrack have already said they want to be involved in a big way - so it's looking like it'll be fun already.

Dates are undecided right now, but the location is set to be Brechfa Forest near Carmarthen. More details and dedicated website to come soon - but you'll know about it here first!

We've pretty much nailed the trail for the event, but having been up there in miserable conditions, we're planning in some wet weather diversions!

This was Sunday afternoon in between heavy showers. Grim. The race circuit will loop around the Cefn Drum in the centre of the pic. We'll be winding gradually round and up to the cairn at the top, then pretty rapidly down to the bottom of the course. Followed by quite a mellow singletrack climb to roughly 3/4 distance. A bit more fast descending then we're back at the finish. Below is the top of the course back in February.

It's kind of last minute, but been waiting for a lot of things to drop into place to finally make this a goer!
